Sleeves please!!!

This is going to be a quick post without pictures...the most boring kind. I have been trying to knit like a crazy woman to get my mom's gift finished but that slip stitch pattern is driving me NUTS and I am finding every excuse not to knit. I am also very afraid that the yarn that I am using has been discontinued and I have not bought enough of it to finish up the vest (I am a total loser when it comes to calculating how much I need). I am constantly thinking about the Christmas gifts that I still have to finish and am not giving much thought to the one gift that I am in the middle of making. I wonder if I will ever change or will I always be making my gifts right up until christmas morning??????
I am also thinking a lot about the vintage yellow and chocolate winter coat that I bought from a little shop downtown. Someone has taken the time to reconstruct the sleeves and make them ridiculously short.... I was wondering if it would work if I just knit up some cuffs in Rowan biggie in a rib pattern and attached them to the inside of the sleeves to make them longer. I want to wear the coat when I go home for Christmas.... it will look so cute with a nice pair of boots.... I just have to get my butt in high gear.
Ruby has been crazy with flyball (I don't even really know what that is but Sri and her go to the flyball gym every Sunday for the afternoon and they both come back very very tired. That is an excellent sport in my books...
Well I should get to knitting at least 4 rows before I go to bed........ I am dreading it.......I need to have the damn thing done by next week so I can move onto something new (perhaps some mitts and a hat and some sleeves for my coat)
