Confessions of a very irresponsible blogger

Christmas is over and obviously a new year has begun and believe me it has been a very exciting new year so far. You can just see the excitement on Ruby's face... she can barely contain herself. In this picture she has just received the news that she is going to be a big sister in July (yes I am pregnant) and I'm not sure she is up to the challenge. She has however become very very protective of me and won't let any other dog near me.....actually she won't even let Sri get very close to me with pushing her way in between. Now an update on the knitting front. I know a lot of you faithful readers are wondering if I got all of my Christmas gifts finished and the answer is YES... all finished and beautiful although the vest that I made for my mom was too small and I'm not sure she was really fond of the colour choices I made. I am dying to knit something for the baby but I just can't settle on one project that I am in love with. When I don't have anything specific to knit I can find a million projects that I want to make and now that I want to knit with a purpose I can't find a damn thing. If anyone has any suggestions I would be really glad to hear them. I am going for my 18 week ultrasound soon, I think that is when they can determine the sex of the baby...... that might make picking a project a lot easier. Below is the start of my Mom's birthday gift. Of course I had to jump on the jaywalker bandwagon.... I am using Koigu and am really enjoying knitting with it. I did however have a disasterous event occur while knitting these sockes. I splurged and bought some lantern moon needles for this specific gift and what should happen last night as I was trying to knit two together.... one fo the damn needles snapped in half. NOw here is the debate in our house. Sri thinks that I should return the needles and I think that I should just suck it up (although they are $30) because I am hard on my needles and that is probably why they snapped. Again I welcome any suggestions(if indeed anyone is actually reading this blog). Well I should get moving and get somemore of the socks done before Ruby gets home and demands my attention.
